A chinese symbol for peace is what many people ask for. Chinese does not work as one magic symbol. Duane checked the reading below. For your own phrase, use the form.

Characters

Simplified characters are the everyday writing in mainland China and Singapore. Traditional characters are used in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and in classic calligraphy, including 欧体.

For this word, the simplified and traditional forms look the same.

Meaning

Peace, the ordinary word for the opposite of conflict, and also a calm state. 和 carries harmony. 平 carries level or even. Together they name peace.

Common mistakes

平 alone means flat, level, or ordinary. It does not mean peace. 安 (ān) is a real one-character option meaning settled, safe, or at ease. It is not the same word.

Before you tattoo this

Say whether you mean peace as in no war, or a calm mind. 安 may be the better single character. Do not tattoo 平 by itself.

What this site does

You type a name, a word, or a phrase. Characters are suggested with AI help. Then Duane, a native Chinese speaker and lifelong calligrapher, checks and corrects every one before anyone receives a stencil and a meaning note.

What this site does not do

It does not tattoo you, and it does not promise how the ink will look on skin. It does not send a character out until Duane has checked it. It does not take payment or open accounts. A suggestion on a meaning page is not an approval.
